Lotus Blossom Prenatal Yoga offers classes for expectant and new moms, as well as pre & postnatal teacher training. When working with moms, we create a warm, safe space where pregnancy discomforts and questions regarding pregnancy, birth, and postpartum are addressed through conversation and key elements of a well-rounded yoga practice: * asana (posture) practice * mindfulness meditation * pranayama (breathing exercises) * classical yoga philosophy * community-building * prenatal education (labor prep and early parenting) * exercises to build core (pelvic floor) stability Our unique mentorship-based teacher training program supports new teachers to find their own voices as they learn to facilitate well-rounded classes. Lotus Blossom grads all over the west coast have gone on to teach their own pre and postnatal yoga programs or have woven their education into other modalities serving expectant and new families (i.e chiropractic care, doula service, etc.). History Established in 2015. After teaching prenatal and postnatal yoga for several years, we developed our first prenatal yoga teacher training in 2015 and launched Lotus Blossom. We continue to offer classes for pregnant women and new moms/babies, as well as an annual teacher training and mentorship. Online workshops are in development. Meet the Business Owner Business owner information Hillary and Jeanna L. Business Owner Hillary Easom and Jeanna Lurie are two of the most experienced prenatal yoga teachers in Silicon Valley, with thousands of hours of teaching and training in their backgrounds. Hillary fell in love with prenatal yoga when pregnant with her son in 2005 (and her daughter in 2007). Teaching for over a decade, her unique style is influenced by many teachers: Leslie Lytle, Max Strom, Jane Austin, and Leslie Howard, among others. Her prenatal and mom/baby classes focus on flowing movement, conscious breathing, taking time to pause, and calming the body and mind. Jeanna found her passion for supporting new moms when she became one in 2001 (and again in 2008 and 2010). Her career started as a doula/birth educator- yoga was added to the mix in 2004. She holds multiple certs in pre & postnatal and Pelvic Floor Yoga. In addition, Jeanna served as Program Manager at Blossom for 11 years. Students love her classes for attention to optimal alignment and frank discussion about birth and parenting.
