This homebirth class is a lot of fun. We do a lot of hands on and experiential learning. The class will cover the anatomy and physiology of labor and birth as a jumping off point to talk about the many layers of birth... physical, mental, emotional, spiritual... you name it! We continue on, getting into natural childbirth, what that means and what it can look like. We will spend time looking at our perception of pain and practicing relaxation and breath awareness to face it. Continually using breath as a tool to soften and open the body we will also practice massage and supported postures. Wear clothes you can move in! We also look into variations of normal and potential complications, how they are handled at home and what might be reasons to transport to the hospital. The last class will cover postpartum recovery for mama and what to expect in those first hours, days and weeks of life with your new baby.
